Since you asked:

"Therefore, to be possess'd with double pomp, to guard a title that was rich before, to gild refined gold, to paint the lily,
to throw a perfume on the violet, to smooth the ice, or add another hue unto the rainbow, or with taper-light
to seek the beauteous eye of heaven to garnish, is wasteful and ridiculous excess."

~William Shakespeare,
ca. 1595

Yup, that's us.

Wool Felted Jack-o-Lantern Class with Debbie Thyr!

Wool Felted Jack-o-Lantern Box

Spend the day creating this outstanding primitive Jack-o-Lantern Box with acclaimed folk artist and designer Debbie Thyr. This project is composed of a mache box, hand-felted wool jack-o-lantern with hand-stitched features, topped by a glazed paper hat.

You will learn painting techniques, felting, hand sewing, paper contruction and techniques, and pull it all together by embellishing your creation with beading, ruched crepe, sewn rococo trims, vintage millinery trims and more. The finishing touch? A tiny spider dangles from his hat, constructed from antique buttons, beads, and wire!

Don't miss this opportunity to work with an acknowledged artist in the primitive and folk art field in her first class, returning to teaching after a hiatus of more than two years. And stay tuned for Debbie's upcoming Christmas project, a snowman pincushion!

Come by the shop, or call to reserve your place in one of these two limited seating classes. Store: 714.680.8893 or Cel: 714.349.2069. There are two dates available for classes, Monday, October 6, and Wednesday, October 15. Both classes will take place from 11:00am to 3:00pm in the afternoon. Hope to have you join us!
