Maybe it was the thai food last night. I hardly slept a wink, and though I got through some design work this morning and sent proofs off to clients, I didn't have any great aspirations of doing anything other than cleaning the store, but this dress really sends me, and Nathalie and I had placed it in the show window on the courtyard Saturday morning and started playing with funking it up with a few different necklaces. This is where I went today...
Actually, this is the second iteration, because the necklace and at least half the chain I put on Mme. Antoinette this morning was sold in one fell swoop. This is more chain, and some more chain (can you ever have too much vintage chain?) with scads of old rhinestone brooches pinned on and tied on with ravelly old ribbons, some sterling and glass keepsake lockets tied on with same, and a companion chain with pearls and victorian glass nailheads.
Here's a closeup or two as I played with my camera. Nathalie came in with her friend Lexie, and they gave it the seal of approval, so Marie is swiveled back into place in the window and the wrought iron window guard is in place again.
Let them eat cake!
