Since you asked:

"Therefore, to be possess'd with double pomp, to guard a title that was rich before, to gild refined gold, to paint the lily,
to throw a perfume on the violet, to smooth the ice, or add another hue unto the rainbow, or with taper-light
to seek the beauteous eye of heaven to garnish, is wasteful and ridiculous excess."

~William Shakespeare,
ca. 1595

Yup, that's us.

Liberty Belle Chapeau

Last Saturday saw us gathered outside on the courtyard for the Liberty Belle Chapeau class with Christine Rose Elle, and what a fun class it was. As usual, students turned out incredible creations under her tutelage and brought fun things to pair up with their kits....

Attending the class were Margie, Priscilla, Mary, Keisha, Bryanna, and Barbara, shown below hard at work on their creations. In the foreground is one of the sample hats by Christine, posing as inspiration...

This was Mary's first class at Lily, and she had a ball and kept us in stitches most of the time. Her pal Barb had to leave early, but was a delightful class mate while she was there...

You can see by the lovely mess on the table that there were lots of perspectives on just how these adorable little chapeaux should look, each one taking on the artistic point of view of their creator...

Look at this lovely combination of paper, fabric, ribbons, tulle and feathers...

Here's Keisha and Bryanna working on their hats...

One of my favorites from the class...what a beautiful and sophisticated color palette, and...

...Marie made a cameo appearance as well, tucked in a little frame poised on the brim of this hat. Too much fun, beautiful balmy weather outdoors under the old tiled roof of the patio, and lovely company. Join us next time!
