Just a short post, but to catch up on the past week. I took a big spill in the back room at Lily, and have been trying to catch up to life ever after. A big swolled-up knee, and subsequently puffy foot, have put me behind the eight ball, and thank goodness for help from Ada, Bridgette, and my newly acquired intern Sian, who miraculously appeared on my horizon Saturday, and sat and priced baskets of old flowers and leaves, and proclaimed herself happy to do so! Oh, how blessed am I!
At home, catching up to fitting out the reclaimed studio space downstairs. I thought we might move the old French art deco side by side back up this morning, but Mr. Jamar has been working relentlessly on illustrations for some automotive clients and we are happy to have that in the hopper! So today turned into some work in the morning, a few errands midday, and time at home in the afternoon. All good. Tomorrow morning, God willing, and the knee cooperating, we will tug the behemoth up the steps in back and I can start organizing the mess that is me into the shelves that are so abundant in that wonderful piece of furniture.
We purchased it years ago from a friend of ours who was importing French antiques from the continent, and it included the huge side-by-side, a desk, and a chair. We still have them all and I hope to include them in the new space. Stay tuned....
In the meantime, I am working on a teak desk from our old office (Crate and Barrel), a wonderful old Hon desk chair (beautiful lumbar support), and am surrounded by boxes, bins, baskets, and tubs of stuff that I have deemed necessary to my art and production ( the latter being very important lately) and wondering how the whole thing will sort itself out. Again, we must stay tuned....
Alors, mes amies! Or, as my older brother so often says, 'Onward, into the fog.'
Talk to you tomorrow...
