Since you asked:

"Therefore, to be possess'd with double pomp, to guard a title that was rich before, to gild refined gold, to paint the lily,
to throw a perfume on the violet, to smooth the ice, or add another hue unto the rainbow, or with taper-light
to seek the beauteous eye of heaven to garnish, is wasteful and ridiculous excess."

~William Shakespeare,
ca. 1595

Working weekend...

It's hard to squeeze everything in at times, and this week was no different. We had the blessing of having friends in from out of town, open studio, and the regular work week to contend with. In between, I managed to do some creating, and it almost seemed as though in having to put off studio time for so long, there was pent up energy and creativity waiting to be released.

As always, my direction is dictated in part by the materials I have to work with, and I had been hanging onto and noodling a couple of designs using some pieces I'd had on hand for a few weeks. Things finally came to fruition with good results.

Taking stock...

As I am always destined to be behind, I have become somewhat used to it, but always rally to the cause to catching up a bit when I can. Our kits have been out of stock in many designs for some time now, and Nat and I managed to restock some of the favorites, with more on the way. We pulled together one of our most popular designs last week...

How fun is this...?

I found these vintage brass bangles a week ago and had time to play around with them day before yesterday. They have a channel down the middle and a raised edge that is perfect for collaging just about anything. I landed on some inky black rayon velvet ribbon and started fishing through the drawers for findings...

I came up with one of my favorites, a little vintage brass pronged filigree that sets off the ribbon perfectly. They were spaced along the ribbon in no time, punched through and hammered on, and then the whole kit and kaboodle was slathered with E6000 and clamped within an inch of its life. I'm going to drill one edge and put a sassy chain tassel on it with a filigree bead cap next to up the ante a little.

Whaddya think?
