Since you asked:

"Therefore, to be possess'd with double pomp, to guard a title that was rich before, to gild refined gold, to paint the lily,
to throw a perfume on the violet, to smooth the ice, or add another hue unto the rainbow, or with taper-light
to seek the beauteous eye of heaven to garnish, is wasteful and ridiculous excess."

~William Shakespeare,
ca. 1595

Yup, that's us.

The simple things in life...

I had an opportunity the other day to be absolutely simple over one of my favorite things. I love these little old forget-me-not flowers that you find from time to time, although not as often as we used to. I did have the good fortune to come upon a few bunches of them recently, and after handing a couple off to a friend who is more foolish for them than I am, I dawdled around with them and this is the result.

I made a big mess, but it was worth it! This involved pinking scissors, vintage crepe paper printed with little flowers, old tulle, and lots and lots of pleating (the only tedious part). Once assembled, they are the cutest darn things around...very spunky if I do say so myself!

What's your latest-greatest-favorite thing you've done lately?

Nancy,

I was cruising the web and found your blog via "Arts and Musings by Pilar," and just love your your blog. After looking at some of your favorite blogs, I was inspired to make a rosary for my mother. She's 86 years old, has everything she needs and wants, but just recently gave her rosary away to my niece, so I'm going to replace it with one of my own creations, thanks to you and your many talented friend.

I'm a doll artist (rather odd dolls by a rather odd doll maker) and the besest fav thing thing I've done lately is completing me Icon Doll. I was so stumped as to how to relate an Iconic image into a doll, but I did. Check her out at lloronaarts.blogspot.com

Again, your work is lovely.
