Since you asked:

"Therefore, to be possess'd with double pomp, to guard a title that was rich before, to gild refined gold, to paint the lily,
to throw a perfume on the violet, to smooth the ice, or add another hue unto the rainbow, or with taper-light
to seek the beauteous eye of heaven to garnish, is wasteful and ridiculous excess."

~William Shakespeare,
ca. 1595

Feelin' the Love at Lily

Sunday was Kristen Robinson's long-awaited class, "Links of Love," a mixed media jewelry design by this Somerset artist. We were lucky to have her there, as she had just wrapped up a busy Saturday at Kim Caldwell's Artistic Affaire event, and she was pretty pooped! These photos are courtesy of Carole Emens, (my new soulmate, who also channels Miriam Haskell). You can read her blog at a-bohemian-market.typepad.

Here's Kristen (who was wearing a fabulous handmade jumper embroidered with Jane Austin quotes) with Cynthia, who attended the class.

Below is the gracious and charming Jenny Doh, whom I met for the first time today. Way in the back, I think you can spy Pilar, with whom I share a nickname...

The irrepressable Kelly Billeaudeux was also in attendance, and our dear Maija (prettier than ever) who was here from Arizona...

Here's a picture of Carole and Kelly mugging it up for the camera...

Carole's "Links of Love" bracelet in progress. This adorable creation included a hand-felted heart, little message of love and affection, vintage glass buttons from Czechoslovakia set with guilloche enamels, pearls, and our favorite--rhinestones! There were even frothy little snips of sheer pink ribbon worked in...

Almost completed bracelelt

Lots of links, and lots of love!

Carole shot our little buffet of goodies....champagne and fresh orange juice for mimosas, a beautiful ring cake with strawberries, raspberries and blackberries tumbling out of it, and some dynamite cookies that Carole brought: as big as your hand, and stuffed with chunks of milk and white chocolate, then drizzled with more chocolate...

Snacks

It was a delightful day, and we were also graced with the company of Kelly Snelling and her friends Mary and Pilar. I'm shouting you out, girls! If my little camera is cooperating later on, I shall have some more photos to post!
