Since you asked:

"Therefore, to be possess'd with double pomp, to guard a title that was rich before, to gild refined gold, to paint the lily,
to throw a perfume on the violet, to smooth the ice, or add another hue unto the rainbow, or with taper-light
to seek the beauteous eye of heaven to garnish, is wasteful and ridiculous excess."

~William Shakespeare,
ca. 1595

Yup, that's us.

Two More Un-Bearably Cute Visitors...

Miss Mac has elected to let me paste some more pictures in this morning, and I so wanted to share these last photos of Laurie Martin's little friends with you. Here are the other little "visitors" to the shop from last Saturday. A matched pair of friends, Bear and Bunny, both with ruffled ribbon collars, holding a miniature bouquet that Jami handpicked for them from my millinery collection...

And this young man...well, I had to call him "Sir." Nothing else would do. Take in all the details of this regal young bear, and his wonderful handmade tail coat. Embellished with tiny brass bead buttons, his own medals, and stripes at the well-turned cuffs, he cut quite the picture of a dandy, sititng in front of my mirror on the case. The back of his coat was turned out just as nicely, with tiny brass buttons at the back and long tails for the occasion. The artist in this case was Ingrid Schmid, as you can see by the signature on his tiny foot.

I hope you enjoyed meeting Laurie's friends as much as I did. I hope to have them come visit again, along with many others, and will let you know if they do! Now, I am off to prepare for the book signing tonight! Ciao!

What precious bears and bunnies!! The bear collector in me just can not look at the pictures enough! It sure does make me miss all those years as a bear artist myself. That devine young man in his blue military style jacket, well he is the best of all. I instantly recognized the style of his features as Ingrid's, who I saw at some of the bear shows. Her bears are always fabulous! thanks Nancy for sharing such little lovelies with us! I could feast my eyes on them time and again. :-)
